Two Marylanders included on CPA Practice Advisor's 2026 '40 Under 40' and '20 Under 40' thought leadership lists
Maryland Association of CPAs CEO Rebekah Olson and MACPA member Mohammad Khan have been included on CPA Practice Advisor’s annual lists of the "40 Under 40 Accounting Professionals" and "20 Under 40 Accounting Influencers."
Olson, who has served as the MACPA’s CEO since 2022, was named as one of CPA Practice Advisor’s "20 Under 40 Accounting Influencers," which “honors those who are leading the way in developing the constantly evolving technology and firm processes that allow practitioners to be more productive, efficient, and profitable.”

Olson was cited for her work in advancing a new pathway to CPA licensure in Maryland and in strengthening the MACPA’s “focus on engagement as a growth engine, evolving programming and piloting new programs and membership models to better serve firms and finance professionals as business models shift.”
“I’m especially proud of how our team continues to lean into change,” she said, “turning challenges around talent, technology, and regulation into opportunities to better connect, support, and future-ready our community.”
Khan, a senior tax manager with CBIZ Advisors, was named one of CPA Practice Advisor’s "40 Under 40 Accounting Professionals," which “spotlights the top practicing public accountants, educators and thought leaders who are leading their profession by visibly and incrementally changing the accounting profession through their exemplary leadership, their innovative thinking, their collaborative efforts to provide unity to the profession across the generations, and their community outreach.”

Khan was recognized for using his technical tax expertise to create deeper value for clients and stronger outcomes for the teams he leads. He also was cited for his volunteer service, which includes work with the Regulation and Tax Compliance and Planning Exam Subcommittees of the AICPA and the AICPA’s Foundation Scholarship Committee.
“Beyond formal service,” he said, “I strive to show clients, students and young professionals the real value of a CPA by building trust, sharing knowledge, and demonstrating how strong relationships can elevate both service and impact.”
This year's 40 Under 40 Honorees have been invited to participate in a "think tank mashup" of roundtable discussions and breakout sessions on June 7, one day before the kickoff of the 2026 AICPA CIMA Engage conference in Las Vegas.
