Three Maryland CPAs — including the MACPA's chief executive — are among this year's CPA Practice Advisor "40 Under 40" honorees.

MACPA CEO Rebekah Olson, GovieRates / The W2 Group founder and CEO Jeff Wilson II, and Paradigm Forensics Managing Member Robert Carter are among the notable professionals included on this year's list.

Each year, CPA Practice Advisor honors "the top practicing public accountants, educators and thought leaders who are leading their profession by visibly and incrementally changing the accounting profession through their exemplary leadership, their innovative thinking, their collaborative efforts to provide unity to the profession across the generations, and their community outreach which extends the visibility of the profession outside the workplace."

"The accounting profession is as dynamic and vital to the success of America’s small businesses as ever," the publication stated, "and CPA Practice Advisor’s '40 Under 40' and '20 Under 40' programs recognize exceptional professionals who are helping lead their practices and the profession into the future."

Rebekah Olson, CPA
CEO, Maryland Association of CPAs

Jeff Wilson II, CPA/PFS, CGMA, CFE, CDFA
Founder and CEO, GovieRates / The W2 Group

"I remain committed to mentoring young accounting professionals, partnering with local institutions like Bowie State and the University of Maryland to create pathways into accounting and tech," Wilson told CPA Practice Advisor. "Through The W2 Group and GovieRates, I provide pro bono training to underserved communities on government contracting, compliance, and financial literacy. I also serve on several advisory boards, helping bridge the gap between policy, education, and practice for emerging CPAs and business owners."

Robert Carter, MS, CPA, CVA, CFE, CEPA, CFF, ABV
Managing Member, Paradigm Forensics

Robert has more than 15 years of experience performing business valuations, forensic investigations and expert witness related services. He runs a forensic accounting practice at Paradigm Forensics, LLC, and serves as an expert witness in various litigation matters and teach forensic accounting and business valuation for local universities and professional organizations.
