Chris Benson is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS). He graduated from Bucknell University in 2004 with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and also has a Master's degree in Taxation from the University of Baltimore. Before joining his father at L.K. Benson and Company in 2009 he spent 5 years in the tax department at Grant Thornton in Baltimore. His extensive background in the tax world gives him a unique perspective as he helps his clients develop and reach long-term financial goals. He provides advice on tax planning, investments, retirement, education funding, estate planning and many other areas.

As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® and Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Judy specializes in delivering integrated financial planning, tax advice, and investment management services to clients nationwide. This coordinated, three-pronged approach is applied to all aspects of a client’s plan, including retirement income goals, wealth accumulation, risk management, legacy planning, and charitable pursuits.
With a focused interest, Judy follows a proven ‘value acceleration methodology’ to guide business owners through their exit strategy with confidence. Her goal is to advise them on ways to maximize the sale of their business, ensuring a strategic and successful exit transition, which is well-coordinated with their personal financial plan.
Judy feels that it’s important for her clients to know that they can trust her and that she’ll be there with answers to their questions or concerns. Long-lasting relationships are the most fulfilling part of Judy’s role. She values being able to celebrate with her clients as they reach not only their financial goals, but their personal goals.
With over 30 years in the financial services industry, Judy believes that a three-fold strategy of coordinated financial planning, tax advice, and investment management services is key to a client’s success.
Judy graduated from Gettysburg College with a B.A. in Management and furthered her education through the University of Maryland Smith School of Business to obtain her MBA in Finance. She is a member of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants Personal Financial Planning (MACPA PFP) Committee and was a past board member for the Financial Planning Association of Maryland.
She values educating and giving back to the underserved and youth through providing basic financial strategies that are important to everyday life. She has volunteered with Money Power Day in Baltimore and the Smart Women Securities as a speaker to her alma mater.
Outside of work, Judy enjoys running, hiking, and traveling. Judy has hiked the Inca Trail and the Grand Canyon, and particularly enjoyed visits to South Africa, Israel, and Turkey. Judy also loves spending time with her husband and two daughters.
