Julien Decosimo is a Principal in CLA’s nonprofit practice, working exclusively with nonprofit organizations. With over 19 years of experience, Julien provides seamlessly integrated professional services to the nonprofit industry.
Julien holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga. He is actively involved in the community, having served as Past Board Treasurer for Skyuka Hall School. Julien is also a member of the Greater Washington Society of CPAs (GWSCPA) and the Finance and Administration Roundtable, demonstrating his commitment to professional development and networking within the nonprofit sector.

Angelyn has over 25 years of experience in movement and coalition building, human rights policy, racial and criminal justice advocacy, and project management & program development. At BoardSource, she focuses on BIPOC leadership transformations and helps identify and create relationships with networks and audiences nationwide to amplify BoardSource’s messaging and governance philosophy.
She previously served as the Director of State Legislative Affairs at the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and as the Executive Director at the National Network for Justice (NNJ), whose members focused on reducing the populations of jails, prisons, and detention facilities.
Angelyn is a trained End-of-Life Doula and the immediate past President of the International End-of-Life Doula Association (INELDA). She is the Founder and CEO of Heirloom Estate and Legacy Preservation LLC, a firm that provides consultation, webinars, and tools designed to educate individuals about the elements of end-of-life planning. She also currently serves on the board of the Reparations Education Project.
Angelyn received her A.A.S degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology, her B.A. from the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington, studied Spanish at the Universidad De Guadalajara in Jalisco, México and received Paralegal and Estate Planning certificates from The Center for Legal Studies. Angelyn has traveled extensively including Honduras–the homeland of her parents. She is also a licensed instructor of Zumba®, Zumba Gold®, Zumba Sentao™ and Aqua Zumba®. She lives in Delaware with her husband.

"Boardroom Readiness: The Intersection of Accounting and Governance Principles" This session is designed specifically for accountants who serve nonprofit boards to assist them with the onboarding process of board members. The objectives are to review the 10 basic responsibilities of board membership through the lens of Purpose-Driven Board Leadership and learn the governance skills necessary to excel as a board member. The session will also examine board membership recruitment based on diversity, skills, and needs. Participants will be better equipped to help onboard new board members through an evolved understanding of their responsibilities. They will also understand the importance of utilizing their accounting acumen to serve on a board.
