Founder & Owner, Peters Professional Education

David Peters is the Founder and Owner of Peters Professional Education in Richmond, VA, and is registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as an Investment Advisor Representative (IAR) with Peters Financial LLC. He has over fifteen years of experience in financial services, including 3 years in the hedge fund industry and six years in the insurance industry.

David was the first-ever Chief Financial Officer at Compare.com - a position he held for over three years. He is a national CPE Instructor/Discussion Leader for Surgent, Kaplan, the AICPA and Don Farmer Tax Courses. He regularly teaches courses in accounting, finance, insurance, financial planning, and ethics throughout the United States. 

He holds four master’s degrees and contributes regularly to various CPA publications, including NCACPA’s Interim Report, SCACPA’s CPA Report, and VSCPA’s Disclosures. He was also a co-author of the Virginia CPA Ethics course in 2018, 2019 and 2020 – a required course for all CPAs licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Arthur Joseph Werner, J.D., M.S. (Taxation)

Arthur Joseph Werner, JD, MS (Taxation), is the president and is a shareholder in the lecture firm of Werner-Rocca Seminars, Ltd. Mr. Werner’s lecture topic specialties include business, tax, financial and estate planning for high net worth individuals.

In addition, Mr. Werner is a former adjunct professor of taxation in the Master of Science in Taxation program at the Philadelphia University.

Mr. Werner received his B.S. in Accounting and his M.S. in Taxation from Widener University. He holds a J.D. in Law from the Delaware Law School. Mr. Werner lectures extensively in the areas of Estate Planning, Financial Planning, and Estate and Gift Taxation to Certified Public Accountants and Financial Planners and has presented more than 3000 eight-hour seminars over the past twenty-five years as well as numerous webinars and video presentations. Mr. Werner has been rated as having the highest speaker knowledge in his home state of Pennsylvania by the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, was awarded the AICPA Outstanding Discussion Leader Award in the State of Nevada, the Florida Institute of CPAs Outstanding Discussion Leader Award, and the South Carolina Association of CPAs Outstanding Discussion Leader Award.

Anthony A. Cuozzo, Jr., CPA, is a Senior Advisor to Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell (CBM) and has over 40 years of experience serving the not-for-profit community, including 501(c)(3) and (c)(6) organizations. Tony is a nationally recognized author and discussion leader for various accounting and auditing courses for CPA firms and state CPA organizations. These teaching assignments keep him abreast of new developments in the accounting profession as well as in business.

Tony is a member and former chair of Coastal Peer Review, an entity formed January 1, 2021 by the Maryland Association of CPAs and the North Carolina Society of CPAs to administer peer reviews of CPA firms in Maryland and North Carolina. Prior to the creation of Coastal Peer Review and as then Chair of the Maryland Association of CPAs Peer Review Committee, he testified annually before the Maryland State Board of Public Accountancy about the effectiveness of the AICPA peer review program then administered in Maryland by the Maryland Association of CPAs.

Auditing experience includes 25 years in public accounting as an auditor and 6 years as an insurance regulator (auditor) including 3 years as the Chief Financial Examiner for the State of Maryland.

Professional training since 1980 for both CPA firms and the public. The 2014 training schedule includes over 100 days in many states for continuing profession education for CPAs. I also assist in teaching prep classes for both the CPA and CFA examinations. Currently hold the designation of Certified Public Accountant and Certified Financial Examiner.
