It’s official: You can remove the “acting” from Prince George’s County Chief Administrative Officer Maxene Bardwell’s title.

Bardwell, who chairs the MACPA’s 2025-26 Board of Directors, was confirmed as Prince George’s County CAO on Oct. 21 during a swearing-in ceremony for county Executive Aisha Braveboy’s administration.

Braveboy tabbed Bardwell as county CAO in June, less than 24 hours after winning a special election for Prince George’s County executive.

“I’m very humbled to serve in the role of chief administrative officer for this great county," Bardwell said." I thank, with heartfelt gratitude, county Executive Aisha Braveboy for giving me an opportunity to serve in this capacity.”

“Maxine truly embodies everything this honor represents: excellence, service, and integrity," added Jessica McClain, CPA/CITP, CISA, PMP, CGFM, a Prince George's County resident and chief financial officer of the American Staffing Association, speaking on behalf of the MACPA. "She doesn’t just talk those values — she lives them every day. She leads with compassion, humility, and conviction — qualities that strengthen both our profession and our community.”

The MACPA extends its heartfelt congratulations to Maxene on this unique and prestigious honor!
