Planning for Sunset without Bankrupting your Client | Speaker: Robert Keebler
Speaker: Robert S. Keebler, CPA/PFS, MST, AEP (Distinguished), Partner, Keebler & Associates, LLP
The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act doubled the estate tax exclusion and therefore sunset will effectively reduce the current exemption by half. The tricky part is that those who use their exclusion before sunset can capture a huge benefit, but doing so may be challenging. Spousal Lifetime Access Trusts (SLAT) have therefore become a powerful planning tool. This course will cover the challenge facing those currently planning for the estate tax, the benefits of using a SLAT, and other powerful ideas to help your clients navigate this difficult transition.
Estate Planning IRAs In a Second Marriage | Speaker: Robert Keebler
Speaker: Robert S. Keebler, CPA/PFS, MST, AEP (Distinguished), Partner, Keebler & Associates, LLP
Estate planning for IRAs in a second marriage is a topic filled with hidden landmines just waiting to trip up the unsuspecting advisor. The dangers inherent in using Conduit Trusts is a perfect example. Another example is an IRA payable to a QTIP trust. Sounds simple, right? Not so fast! An IRA payable to a QTIP trust sets up a problematic mismatch between how state law defines "fiduciary accounting income" and the surviving spouse's expectations as to what kind of income s/he would actually received. All of this puts a premium on the advisor having to sharpen their skills, which is exactly what Bob Keebler will help you do. In his fast-moving, content-packed webinar, Bob breaks down all the technical rules so you don't make that one fatal mistake.
Keeping Employees Engaged in a Hybrid Work Environment | Speaker: Kelley Long
Speaker: Kelley C. Long, CPA/PFS, CFP
Remote work is here to stay, at least for professional services and personal financial planning firms. How do you allow employees requested flexibility to work outside the office without risking disengagement or loss of talent? Kelley Long, PFS and financial wellness coach, will be leading a discussion based on her own experience as a remote employee working for a company with an office-based workforce before remote work was commonly available. You’ll learn subtle pitfalls to avoid as well as best practices to keep both in-office and remote workers engaged in the company culture for the ultimate success of all stakeholders.
